Can't get the vocals to sit right

I'm currently mixing an EP for a young female artist and I'm having trouble with one song. The track is kind of folky with acoustic guitars, banjos, and lots of bgv's. Problem is much of the lead vocal is sung really low ( register, not volume) and it just can't compete with the other instruments that are bright and present, including her own bgvs. I've carved out some of the mids on the instruments which helped but the track is just lacking energy and the vocal doesn't seem to sit well at all. Any one have any tips for this type of situation?

Similar chord viewer to logic for Fl studio?

Hi there so i was wondering. In Logic in the tip bar (i guess you could call it) When you make a certain chord it will show you in the tip bar. Cmaj etc. So i was wondering if there was a plugin for FL studio similar to that? It would really be helpful. Sometimes i cant help but make a chord on the piano and wonder what it is when im brain storming a progression.

Editing audio on ableton live 9 problem

I'm just getting to grips with ableton live 9.



I've recorded some audio but there is a short measure of silence at the start of it that I want to edit out so that the audio is in sync with the midi tracks.



I've tried editing the file in cool edit pro but when I try to add the edited sample to ableton it plays sped up.



Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

Hello all,



For purposes of being different, I am on a journey to find an instrument or sound that is similar to a piano. More precisely, what I'm looking for is something with a very mature sound. Something good for melodies to accompany a sad part of a song. Also something with a bit of velocity sensitivity.



So far I find that sampling a very clean guitar and playing that with a keyboard gives a pretty good sound but with noise artifacts, and as for dynamics or uniqueness, I'm still searching.

We love our gadgets and our tech, right? I imagine most of us have pretty up-to-date mobile phones. I'm wondering how many of you are using them for electronic music purposes, wether as tiny synths, loopers, midi controllers and so on, what software you rely on, and wether you use them in a creative live environment.

Adding lunchbox...concerns for input/outputs and which lunchbox to choose

I've decided to add a lunchbox to my system. Just won an auction for an elysia xpressor so that will be my starting module. I need to decide on a chassis now.



I was originally eyeing the Lindell Audio 506, however; I realized I would need to add something like a behringer ADA8000 to have enough inputs. So I started wondering if maybe a lunchbox exists that has ADAT/Lightpipe and allows for easy connection to an interface. Surprisingly, nada.



I've got a saffire pro 40. Already using 5 inputs with my king korg, jv 1080, and se-1x. So that leaves me only 3 inputs for my lunchbox which isn't enough for a 6 slot chassis. (I've got enough available outputs)



So, basically, I need 3 extra inputs. Is my only/best option an ADA8000 via lightpipe ? Will the modules encounter any latency issues if, for instance, the xpressors outputs are plugged into the ADA8000 inputs and the xpressors inputs are plugged into the saffire pro 40 outputs? (Basically, could the xpressor have it's inputs and outputs connected to the two different interfaces?)



Wish there was an easier way to add a few inputs?



How would you guys go about managing this input/output scenario?
