Currently I'm in a situation where I've moved and I don't have space for all of my keyboards and larger synths. On the bright side, this limited situation certainly has brought about some new ways I've been making music :)
However, being holed up with nothing but an OctaTrack and a SH-32 (only desktop synth I had) is making me a bit... repetitive. The Roland isn't the best sounding synth and I am looking for another desktop module to round out the sound.
Any suggestions? I'd say anything sub $1000 for price.
So far I'm interested in:
- Monomachine (due to its integration with other Elektron kit and wide variety of synthesis methods)
- Blofeld (Learning wavetable synthesis seems intriguing. Also it's the cheapest)
- Access Virus (I don't really like the whole idea of VA synths... but the B specifically does sound the best of all the variations on virus I've heard)
Basically I'm looking for a well-rounded, well sounding (digital?) desktop synth. I need polyphony badly so I can build chords, stabs, pads, and drones that don't sound tinny and brittle like my SH-32.
