Tyron Woodley is getting right back to work.
Less than two weeks after his loss to Rory MacDonald at UFC 174, Woodley has agreed to replace Hector Lombard against Dong Hyun Kim on Aug. 23 in Macau, China, UFC president Dana White announced on Tuesday.
Lombard was forced to withdraw from the fight due to a "pretty big-sized" cervical herniated disc pinching one of his nerves. He has been told by his doctor that he'll be out of action for at least three months, however, it is unclear at this time whether the injury will require surgery.
Kim (19-2-1, 1 NC) has won his last four fights in a row. He most recently knocked out John Hathaway via spinning back elbow also in Macau back in March.
Woodley (13-3) will look to get back on track after the unanimous decision loss to MacDonald. Prior to the loss he had won two in a row.
UFC Fight Night 48, headlined by Michael Bisping vs. Cung Le, will air on UFC Fight Pass in the United States. Woodley vs. Kim will serve as the co-main event.
