Ableton instrument rack type hardware...

For those of you who use Ableton, do you know how when you drop a sample on to an instrument rack, you can then play that sample in real time with a midi keyboard?



Is there any hardware that has this ability? (i.e. I could plug my midi keyboard into it and load samples in to it and play them in real time.)



Not sure if it's a normal function of samplers or not, but it doesn't seem like it...
