For years I've been using Guitar Rig and Overloud products into PCI cards (EMU 1212m and now ESI Maya 44xte) recording into GR or Reaper. I hate everything about the process: I can't stand GR, I've always struggled with popping, clicking and humming; I'm tired of PCI cards flaking out on me; and recording has been fairly painful to where I've done it less and less over the years.
I'm just looking for a streamlined, noise-free solution where I plug in my guitar, use a foot controller (esp. for managing looping) and easily recording tracks onto my computer or jamming along to songs.
I'm not sold on modelling but I am not willing to mic anything.
Price isn't a huge factor but the Axe FX II + stomp board are out of range.

Advice: simple, guitar-only home recording
