Hi folks,
I'm a long-time reader, first-time poster.
I've owned a wonderful Beyerdynamic M160 for a few months, and I decided to buy it a mate to use on drum overheads.
I bought the first one used on eBay, but unable to find another used one, bought a brand new mic. My used one looks like it's 5-6 years old and has the N(C) designation.
Much to my disappointment, the new mic sounds nothing like my old one. The brand new one has half to 2/3 the output and sounds like somebody draped a sock over it. Bleh.
Do all of the new M160s sound like this, or does my new one just have a saggy ribbon or something?
I appreciate the help!
