Not talking about low end cheap chinese mics, but lets say we have a very high quality, respected condenser such as a Nuemann TLM102.
Lets also say we have a premium Sony c800g.(or 251, etc..)
Now dry, or with very little mixing, one might reasonably say the c800g(or any other mix X in similar price range) offers better"stock" sound where additional EQ may indeed be minimal. It sounds more finished, radio ready without having to process as much.
But lets say both are equally proccessed in ways music is mixed these tons-tons of compression, heavy EQ, reverbs, etc... maybe the TLM102 type mic needs more processing to get to the level the c800g gets fairly easily.
Anyways, my whole point is, in the case where a premium mic is HEAVILY mixed(and in this case only as it pertains to this question, not whats better stock, etc..) and a really good(tlm102) mic is HEAVILY mixed-does it matter much?
As in, with heavy processing does that kind of disregard or minimize the impact of a super expensive mic vs a really good, but not near as expensive mic?

Does heavy processing rule out the difference between premium mics and great mics?
