I'm planning to put up a couple of walls to subdivide my basement...I'm planning a combined control room and drum tracking room.
Keep in mind this will just be a "fun" studio for me, so while I'd like to end up with a decent sounding room, it won't really need to meet "pro" specs.
My house is an old end-of-WWII structure and the basement "ceiling" is open wood joists. The problem is all of my ductwork is running right through the center of the area I will be using for my "studio".
So, I will not be able to put an actual ceiling in the space.
Would I want to just put clouds over my desk area and over my drums? They would have to be at about 7'-0" above the floor...maybe a little higher over the desk area.
Or would there be a better alternative?
Thanks!

No Ceiling?
