I've been recording vocals in my bedroom with a Heil PR30B and a Komplete Audio 6 interface. I'd like to upgrade from it but I'm lost which way to go so I would appreciate your experienced ears in putting together a vocal chain.
I'm expecting a used API 6B Lunchbox, Mytek 192 ADC as well as a BAC 500 next week. I bought them based on research and good pricing. I'm planning to treat the room with basstraps from GIK. I now need your help purchasing a 500 series preamp and a mic. I'm not sure what sound i'm looking for but something that would suit my voice and if possible something that would flatter it I guess. I've attached a sample of a quick recording I did with the PR30B and the KA6. I decided to put an instrumental on the vocal in case it helps.
my budget is $1500
