A bantamweight showdown between Eddie Wineland and Johnny Eduardo has been added to the UFC’s upcoming return to Cincinnati.
UFC officials Wednesday announced the booking, which takes place May 10 at U.S. Bank Arena. The card has not yet been finalized, but the event will also feature a featherweight scrap pitting Nike Lentz against Manny Gamburyan, as well as a flyweight pairing between Chris Cariaso and Louis Smolka.
Wineland, 29, has won three of his last four fights, with his lone defeat in that span coming in a failed title bid against reigning bantamweight king Renan Barao. The former World Extreme Cagefighting champion last competed on Jan. 25, when he earned a technical knockout win over fellow WEC alum Yves Jabouin at UFC on Fox 10.
Eduardo has not competed since May 2012, when he outpointed Jeff Curran at UFC on Fuel TV 3. The Brazilian was expected to return to the cage on two occasions last year but saw a March meeting with Jabouin and a November clash with Lucas Martins scratched due to injury.
