Once again Bellator is on the verge of another ppv self destructing. I've lost track....is this 2 or 3?
What's the deal? Why is their card to brittle that one injury sends the whole thing crumbling? To me, it's simple; they're not trying to market mma...they're trying to make money off of names alone.
Invicta on the other hand has never had the marquee names, yet their ppv's have delivered. They had a minor glitch right out the gate with (ustream?), but Shannon Knapp handled it the right way. They next one went off without a hitch. Invicta sells mixed martial arts. Plain and simple. If you're an mma fan, you're their target audience. It has that small circuit feel, yet the broadcast are produced very well.
Bellator is still trying to decide if they want to be the WWF or a legit mma organization. They inherited a network that the UFC built for the mma community. How can you screw that up?
Bjorn, look, it's obvious you don't understand the ppv market; that's fine. Just continue raking in the money that the UFC left for you. Spike likes you....and so do we.
Personally I'd rather see them do a ppv for $19.95 with a bunch of no names until they get it figured out. Better yet, call Shannon Knapp for advice.
