Joe Rogan says that Vitor Belfort failed his random drug test in February.

Vitor Belfort and Testosterone Replacement Therapy. The two have gone hand in hand for years. Belfort's sudden resurgence came after he went on TRT, something many found to be a more controversial than normal move thanks to his prior failed drug test for anabolic steroids.

Belfort was set to face Chris Weidman for the UFC middleweight title in Las Vegas when he was given a random drug test--this was ahead of actually being licensed for the fight--soon after the test, the NSAC voted to eliminate all TRT exemptions.

The closest we've come to learning if Belfort failed that drug test was this past weekend when Dana White said ""Here's the reality of that test, doctors disagree with the results of that test."

On his recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan may have let the cat out of the bag on the results of the test.

Rogan was explaining the end of TRT exemptions and said, "They did it to Vitor…random drug test. And Vitor was on testosterone. That's the reason that testosterone got banned in the first place. The whole thing went down when Vitor tested positive with the Nevada State Athletic Commission, after that. Before that, they were considering him for a testosterone exemption….And because he tested positive they scrapped the whole testosterone program."

Belfort will have to go in front of the NSAC for licensing for his new bout with Chael Sonnen at UFC 175. If he did fail his drug test it would be unheard of for him to wait a few months and apply with no punishment, but this is a new NSAC regime so I think anyone who claimed to know what to expect would be lying.
