Should clinching against the fence be interrupted earlier?

Hi guys,

i have a feeling that a lot more fights are constantly moving into the clinching game against the fence. basically i have nothing against this but if you look what the results are i think this should be interrupted earlier. especially if one guy is just trying to get a takedown for three minutes or more. there is nearly no damage, one is holding and the other is defending the takedown. it reminds me of the "lay and pray time" we had in some earlier mma times. the big differnece and the most recent effect in clinching i see is much more exhaused fighters after this. this makes the fight in the later round less technical, slower and less entertaining. sure there are some guys who are able to use clinching extremly to their advantage like randy or gsp did. in this cases there is no need to interrupt it but most of them just get exhaused because its hard to get out of it for both sides.

what do you guys think?
