UFC stars Joe Lauzon and Cole Miller raise money for charity

Two UFC stars are temporarily turning their attentions away from the cage and towards projects to raise money for worthy charity causes. Cole Miller and Joe Lauzon each separately have begun fundraising efforts to combat diseases that have not only touched their lives, but the lives of millions of others.

Cole recently lost his grandfather to Alzheimer’s disease and, in the video above, talks about the one-man charity bike drive he's doing from his home of Macon, GA back to his team of American Top Team in South Florida. Not only is Miller taking donations for his one-man charity bike ride from GA to Florida, he will stop every 60-100 miles along the way to teach a martial arts seminar for donations.

All proceeds from the seminar will go to combat Alzheimer’s. For details, watch the video above and go to http://ift.tt/1nKpJIk. Cole has promised some really cool swag to those who support his charity drive and charity seminars so make sure to join the fight with him.

Lightweight Joe Lauzon recently became a father to a wonderful baby boy who has already struggled more than any child should ever have to. Joe's son was born with cancer but is fighting hard and winning. This has inspired Lauzon to get a team going to do the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Cancer walk.

If you want to be a part of the team, but are not local to the Boston area, you can still donate to support the fight against cancer. Here's what Lauzon had to say about the project on the UG

"We formed a team, will have awesome shirts, will all meet up together and walk/run together as a giant mob of cancer fighting badass.

If you aren't local, you can always donate too. I will do something awesome for the people that donate the most... some kind of autographed shirts or gloves or something. I have that UFC canvas from my fight with Jim Miller too... so maybe I can send pieces of that. Depending on how successful this goes, I will figure it out.

If nothing else, a like and a share would be awesome.

Cole and Joe are some of the most exciting fighters in MMA, in large part because of their dedication, and it's great to see them take that same fighting spirit with them as they try to do their small part for some great causes. Hopefully you'll visit their sites, follow their journeys and consider joining them.
