Alesis iO4 Producing 1 khz Whine

Dear 'Sluts,

I received an Alesis iO4 for Christmas and, while it is an amazingly feature-packed interface, a sonic problem is present that I'm unable to solve on my own. The interface (even with nothing plugged into it) produces a whine that appears to have a fundamental frequency of 1 khz with both odd and even harmonics. Here is a sample:

It has been amplified for convenience. in actual practice, it maintains a volume of -78db. I've sent this same sample to Alesis but have yet to hear back.

I've unplugged all USB devices, moved the wallwart to the some power supply that my (Asus) desktop and its peripherals use, temporarily lifted the grounding pin on the USB cable, tried different USB cables, plugged into a powered USB hub and a few other "fixes" but nothing has worked.

Can you shed some light on this problem? I'd really hate to have to return it. Thanks.
