Avid Artist Control. Should I? Or...

Looking to buy a control surface for mixing purposes and I'm looking at the Avid artist control because of the 100mm faders, smooth response & the size. I'm concerned that I'm going to spend time trouble shooting this thing and with my ADD I know if that's the case this thing will just end up collecting dust.



I'm curious if this is the way to go or if you think there is a better solution?



Current setup:

New 15" MacBook Pro (I will need to do ethernet over thunderbolt)

Apollo Duo (I will mainly use Universal Audio plugs)

Focal CMS 50 monitors



I would love to get away from the mouse so I'm eager to hear what you think :)
