Our main installation has lost an amp, a Crown XLS-1500. Got a replacement, a Crown XLS-2500. Works great, lighter and smaller.
Lost another amp, a VERY old Peavey, 1/4" in and out.
Bought a new Crown XLS-2500, was going to move one of the remaining three Crown XLS-1500's to the Peavey slot and install the 2500 as a 1500 replacement....but, no.
Not sure why it's wired like this (I didn't do it), other than lack of inputs, but the XLR input to the 1500...directly above it is a set of small screw terminals. This one has wires connected. Traced them out, they go up the rack to a Rane Graphic EQ, then back down to another main XLS-1500 input.
Since the 2500 has no such screw terminals, and because of a time constraint limiting my time in the rack, I did not feel like searching for proper length shielded 1/4" to 1/4" cables.
Anybody ever seen this before?
All I can figure is they wanted to equalize one input to the second amp.
Thanks.
