Missing 500 - 600 Hertz

I have noticed that compared to commercial bands / singers that my vocal recordings lacked the type of body they got.

I ran a spectrum analyzer on some vocal only tracks of professional singers and looked at their respected frequency range.

I then did some test examples of my own voice and found there is a considerable dip in the 500-600 Hertz range. When I artificially add it in, I do notice that body come into my tracks that I am missing. Gives them a more present up front sound that I like.

I track in a finished basement with low ceilings 7'. No treatment, using an SM7B & UAD 610 MKII preamp. Slight compression, no EQ.

I found some old tracks of mine in a somewhat treated area of the basement (703 panels) using a Neumann U89 & Great river preamp. Those too were dipped low in the same 500-600 HZ area.

My question is, do I have a treated room problem? Should I move out of the basement and into my living room with taller ceilings and more volume? I can treat the area with 703 panels there as well.

Is it possible that frequency's are cancelling out? I feel I am trained enough in singing that I am using the proper techniques.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)
