B-Band or LR Baggs - Bad B-Bands ???

I want to purchase pick-ups for two of my guitars (a classical and a steelstring).

I’ve restricted the selection to B-Band or LR Baggs

Question:

1)

I heard, the installation of B-Band can be difficult and problems could result from that. Such as: the strings were not rendered all equally resp. several strings couldn’t be well heard or almost not at all. And:

2)

What irritates me a lot is the statement, that at B-Band the quality of he parts were very low and after a while the pick-up would „fall apart“ (quite a heavy accusation). Especially the foils (films, leafs ? I don’t know the correct word in english) would loose their quality after a relatively short time.

Manufacturer and dealers answer:

- The installation of the b-band pick-ups are actually not so easy. But if someone has (a lot of) experience with installing b-band, there wouldn’t be any problems. And:

- They contradict vehemently concerning point 2) (Quality / foils ... / short lifespan )

So I wonder what independent and experienced user think.
