Hey gearslutz,
I have an issue with my Mackie 24.8 analog console. Ive been using it to mix some tracks from protools (using analog outs from my 003 and ADAT outputs from my ART tube opto) and everything was working really well, but today the meters have stopped working (the meter bridge as well as the subgroup and master meters), except the vu meter needles which still operate. Worse yet, after playing a mix for a few seconds (or after i push the master fader past unity) all sound goes dead, except for barely audible low, distorted signal. I thought maybe it was a power problem so i used an extension cord to plug the mackie into a different circuit with nothing else plugged in, still did nothing. I know these boards are old and cheap but is there any hope in getting it working again? I really liked the setup I had going.
any help would be appreciated, thanks!
