Hi,
I'm having problems with tracking and mixing vocals. I'm finding it hard to make them sound 'professional'. One of my biggest concerns is whether the take itself is good enough to be translated to make it sound professional. If it is really a matter of more processing (compression, riding, etc) then at least it's something that can be achieved.
Anyways I've attached the instrumental, vocals (compression, eq and only formant shifting done on the vox, otherwise dry) and a mix that I did with
- psp pseudostereo for stereo image
- send of rverb
- send of saturation (fabfilter saturn - prob doesn't do much)
- send of flanger (again subtle effect, I like jai paul vocals)
anyways I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what are the big and small mistakes. how can I get it to stop sounding amateurish. If anyone could actually mix the two and show me how 'professional' it can sound with this take that would be amazing.
