Hey, sorry if this was posted before but after trawling through thread after thread I couldn't really find what I was looking for. I record my own vocals, along with all the instruments, and, while I'm sure all the instruments sound ok, I've had many people tell me that they can barely hear my vocals, if at all, when I can hear them clear as day.
Is this because I know my own voice so well when others may not. To me its sounds as loud as any other type of song I like so I'm hesitant about increasing the volume but maybe this is a common problem that I need to overcome in order to properly mix my vocals?.. I'm still learning about the whole process of recording so hopefully this is kind of a beginner's problem. :)
here's a link to what is, in my opinion, probably my best mixed song with vocals. The vocals don't start till about 1 min in. Feel free to completely tear it apart. Even if you have advice for other areas too :)
