Following up on the rather recent Royksopp thread, whilst taking a musical trip back to the late 90's - early 00's, I have Moon Safari going now.
Ok like, really, how is this thing still holding up so well some 17 years later!
It oozes of cool retro nostalgia, melodies, counter-melodies and harmonies that seem timeless.
Not to mention the sounds, those string machines, MS20 LFO sweeps, etc.
I bought it back when it came out and while I enjoyed some of the following records they put out (Virgin Suicides top notch), like many similar bands, the first is always the most memorable.
Damn this album takes me back, I almost get the goosebump effect it's so damn good.
IMO, it could be released today and still make a serious impact.
Another desert island record for me.
