I'm looking for something comparable to a MPC1000, that I can buy off the shelf, for under a grand. Is the Beat Thang the only option? Will the new Electribe Sampler hang? What is required is a box that I can send MIDI notes to for real-time sequencing. Auto-chopping and resampling would be nice, too. The MPC seems laid out perfectly for my desired use. And, the Electribe has a lot of feature that I don't need. However, I do like the the Electribe uses SD card for storage. Ny multitrack recorder uses them, as well. Does anyone know what file format the samples are in? I just want something like a MPC, but new, or a Beat Thang, without the "Thang".
