Pedal board adapter hum? Help!

Hi all



I have encountered a weird problem I need urgent help with.



I use a power brick thingy for my pedal board, it's a Belcat PST power station. Never had any issues, but a few weeks ago the power supply for the supply (still with me? Lol) broke. So, I run to my nearest Maplin and purchase a replacement 15v 1200mha supply. First time trying it out last night in rehearsal, I get this really weird noise coming through the amp - it's a bit like a turbine spinning or something. The noise is definitely coming from my new power supply, but I don't understand why it's doing it as all the specs match.



I'm probably going to have to return it, but what do I do now? I have a gig this Saturday! Where else do they sell 15v 1a (min) power supplies (a shop, not online) and what do I have to look out for to not suffer a repeat of this problem?
