the homogenization of electronic music?

I was thinking lately about the analog resurgence and what it might mean as far as the future of the sound of electronic music productions. With all the raving about things like Roland's recent plug-out replications of some of their coveted classics, etc., I was thinking that once something that used to be out of reach for most people is then available to everyone, does it lead to a homogenization of the sound of electronic music? When everyone has a near-perfect replica of every Roland classic, will those sounds start to become overly saturated in the music scene and lose their appeal? Will it eventually lead to a backlash against those kinds of vintage sounds because everyone is using them and they've become the new "popular" sound? What do you guys think?
