Warm fuzz/distortion tone?

Hi, everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm really liking the light distorted tone on these tracks from Veruca Salt, and I'm trying to zero in on how they get that sound. I believed they used a Boss DS-1 Turbo in studio with Gibson SG's, but I wanted to see if you could get this tone with just amp gain/distortion?



I'm playing a Squier Jazzmaster through a Fender Champ 20 (yes, I know, I'm poor and that's really all I can get atm).
