Pick a mic for this vocal

I'm in a position to purchase a new vocal mic for my home project studio. My budget is up to $2k, of course less is always better.



The attached links are some impromptu unprocessed vocal samples of the singer in the band I'm working with.



I have some ideas of what I would like to try, but am curious as to what some of you on the forum would pull out of your locker for this guy.
