Wrestling/Flawed MMA Judging

After watching the Rampage/King Mo fight I wondered if wrestling is flawed in MMA in terms of how it's judged. Should they award points for a take down at all? At the end of the day, it's a fight and and the objective is to hurt your opponent, whether it's by KO or submission. Wrestling is only a part of the game and it doesn't do anything except show you are in control of the fight. IMO, control should only come into factor in judging for close rounds/fights.

The problem I see is if fighter A takes fighter B to the ground and only throw a few punches, yet the person on the ground is throwing high number of submission attempts and elbows which cut the guy on top of him. He should win the round, though we can all assume it'll be given to the fighter on top who did little to nothing.

My point is, if you take a fighter down, you are only bettering your position so that you can land more shots easier and score for the fight. The way same a fighter would pull guard so he can land more submissions. If you take a fighter down then hold him there and do nothing and stall, you don't deserved the round.

This way we can judge a fight easier and discuss who did more damage and was more active with submissions.
