Gaudinot vs. Harris Deemed No Contest Due To Drug Test Failure
Louis Gaudinot and Phil Harris squared off in the flyweight division at UFC Fight Night London back in March, with Gaudinot originally registering a submission victory via guillotine after just seventy-three seconds.
Compounding the defeat, news came through that Gym 01's Harris (22-11 2NC) had been released following the loss, his third in four UFC outings, but he was then reinstated to take on Neil Seery at UFC Dublin.
Though no reason was initially confirmed, many assumed it was because of Harris' logisitics for the Ireland event, as well as the pair having history with a close fight back in 2010. With both men coming off losses and Seery needing a fight in his hometown, it made sense.
However, it was confirmed to Your MMA that Harris was reinstated due to a failed drug test on Gaudinot's behalf, with the fight set to be overruled to a No Contest. MMA record keepers mixedmartialarts.com already have it registered.
Sources indicate that Gaudinot (6-3 1NC) tested positive for a diuretic, hydrochlorothiazide, and has been suspended for nine months.
Records haven't yet been updated on Sherdog or the UFC's official site.
