Michael Bisping and Cung Le to face blood, urine drug tests ahead of UFC Fight Night 48 in Macau
Michael Bisping could not handle the hugeness that is Cung Le.
After the former Strikeforce middleweight champion turned into a statue of a Greek god, "The Count" started asking Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) for a closer look at the secret to Le's success (via FOX Sports). Hard work? Strict diet? We're about to find out, according to a report from UFC Tonight.
But Bisping will have to do some sharing of his own.
Both UFC Fight Night 48 headliners will be subjected to enhanced drug testing ahead of this weekend's middleweight showdown on Fight Pass, which takes place on Sat., Aug. 23, 2014 in Macau, China, where no regulatory body exists. That means ZUFFA will pick up the tab in order to verify that both athletes are playing by the rules.
And as we've seen in the past, the promotion is not shy about exposing fighters who fail in-house drug tests.
Neither Bisping nor Le have ever flunked for performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) and to date, there has been no evidence of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), which is now outlawed in select locations. That means this could be nothing more than a formality.
Or something much worse.
