Hello fellow slutz,
I 've been searching the internet, reading articles and asking the companies, but still am unsure what headphone to get.
I have a home studio and am working in it quite some time, but now some things changed and therefore I can no longer work as much and as loud I want on my Adam P22a monitors.
So I decided to take some money and buy me the best headphones for under 2000 $ that suite my needs which are:
- Clear, neutral sound, I want as less masking as possible.
- A great comfort to wear, since they will be used quite a lot.
- no amp needed, I only have the output of my RME Fireface UC.
Now I would buy the Audeze LCD X, but many people complain about the heavy weight.
Some even say, they can only have em on for like an hour, which would be really a big Contra.
Then there are the Fostex TH 900 which are suppose to be a real treat in terms of wearing comfort but do mask the sound quite a bit.
I also checked out Alpha Dogs, since they were mentioned quite a bit even though they are so much cheaper, but I don't know of anyone personally who owns them.
I'm usually composing scoring music for tv series but I also have a drum and bass project going, so there is not really a general type of music that the HP are suppose to sound great on, that's why clarity is most important!
I would be very happy about your thoughts on this matter!
Thanks a lot!!!
