problem: Logic Pro X insists on looping my drum samples!

I just upgraded to Logic Pro X and am using the EXS24 sampler for the first time, and am having an issue I can't find any info on.



I created an instrument in EXS using one of my own drum samples, and in EXS deselected "Loop On" in the Loop Zone and selected "1 Shot". Still, when I start entering notes using the piano roll, the sample loops when playing back unless I make the notes really really short (like 1/32 note). So for example, an eighth note hit will make the drum sample play several times in a row, for the exact duration of an eighth note.



I tried loading one of the default drum instruments that come with EXS and it does the same thing. Is there a global setting I need to change or something?
