Strange issue with cubase 5

Hey, I seem to be experiencing a weird issue that I cannot for the life of me figure out..



I have open Cubase with HaLIONOne plugin running. I have a Maschine Mikro Mk2 that I am trying to use as a simple Midi controller, I do have an audio interface, but for now, I just want to use onboard soundcard instead of setting up the interface..



I have it all correctly set up to the point where I am getting Midi input recognized, I am getting Master volume output recognized in the mixer, however when I play anything from the controller, no sound comes out of cubase itself.. All hits are recognized and I can see and record the sound... but theres no audio playback..



If I press the virtual on screen keyboard, I get playback, and if I record on the Maschine Mikro Mk2 and play that back, I can hear it... just no direct playback sound...
