Logic Pro X issues

Hey all, just purchased Logic Pro X after watching a ton of videos of it on youtube.

Im having some troubles however, especially when recording guitars.

Here's some of the issues:

- There is a loud buzzing, almost feedback sound that I can't get rid of (I can hear it even while playing)

-Sometimes the guitar will randomly cut out

-Guitar sound quality isn't so great (thin and sterile sounding)

-some latency issues

-The volume on my macbook needs to be all the way up for me to even hear the guitar, even though I'm using an external sound card..



Now before you ask, I have tried using this with Guitar Rig 5 in Ableton Live 9 standard and the issues I mentioned above do not happen at all, so it's not my hardware.



I am using a 2014 13" rMBP with a Line 6 Toneport GX.

2.8GHz i5, 8gb ram, 256 gb ssd and recording onto a 1tb external hdd



Any ideas?
