Mac Audio editors make me want to set fire to my hair

Hi

I grew up on soundforge on the PC. Since switching completely to mac its never been the same. I do alot of sampling and editing from vinyl, and I basically want something that responds as simply as soundforge. These are my chief wants:

1. The ability to record multiple takes creating regions in a file, without having to manually move the playhead to the end of the file to avoid recording over what I just recorded.

2. The ability to easily create markers and easily select the areas between markers. This is how I am used to editing.

3. When I delete the area between two markers, to leave a marker there so i know where i made the edit.

Soundtrack pro does some weird shit with markers, and basically leaves them where they are when you make edits, so they all move relative to the file. This seems nuts to me. Maybe there is a reason.

I held out great hope for SF Pro Mac. Although glitchy, it seemed to fulfill 2. and 3. above. In newer versions, it only seems to fulfill 2. Now when you double click a region between markers and delete, it deletes all the markers.

I just tried Audition. Not bad - however, it doesnt have a quick easy way to select an area between two markers. All you can do is enable 'Snap to Markers' and then you have to manually drag the selection. If youre too far off you wont snap to the marker.

Am I missing something? are there any other decent editors i should try? i've tried a whole host of em and none cut it for me.
