I have some questions and finally decided to register here:
So, I'm pretty successful producer/songwriter in my country. (<40mln people country in Europe) By successful, I mean - gold plates, awards, etc. one of the artists I work with (which all her songs are written and produced by me) has now like 70 million views on YT.
I've been working with many top artists in my country, producing/writing singles for them, also cooperating with all major labels here.
BUT - I don't want it anymore - since the beginning of my music "adventure" (2002') I've always thought about USA as my "career dream".
So, me and my friends (female singer and another producer) we did couple very catchy pop hits and produced it very well.
And here is the question - what should I do next?
a) search for a Publisher Company? (since the big ones don't accept unsolicited material there's nothing I can do really)
b) search for a manager/agent? but, the same situation as with a) - I have no contacts in US...
c) find some good, fresh artist to work with?
d) my singer has great voice. She's somewhere between Katy Perry and Amy Macdonald a little, but better in my opinion haha :) - maybe we should try with her career in US?
Little background:
* I presented these songs to majors/agencies in my country and they loved it, I have couple options what to do with the songs, BUT - like I said before, I'm tired of music industry here and really want to try what can I do on US market.
* I read many threads here and all of them has the same thing - "make contacts" - but how? I'm not living in USA and do not know anyone from music buisness up there.
* I spent many hours on e-mailing publishers and only received couple responds with $50 non-exlusive deals.
Any advices welcome - what would You do in my situation? I can work hard and I'm ready for it. Thanks
