It's been nearly a year since the UFC's former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos fought, but it looks like there could be a time and place for his return.
As reported on UFC Tonight, a fight between Dos Santos and fast-rising heavyweight Stipe Miocic is under consideration for December. Though nothing is set in stone yet, Ariel Helwani reported that a source close to Miocic has informed him that a showdown at the UFC on FOX 13 card is "more than likely." That event takes place on Dec. 13 at the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
A source within Dos Santos' camp reportedly said "Cigano" is agreeable to the date, but that he would prefer it be a three-round fight, rather than the five designated for main events.
Dos Santos (16-3) has been out of action since his UFC 166 title bid came up short against current champion Cain Velasquez. He was scheduled to fight Stipe Miocic in May -- originally at UFC 173 on May 24, which was the bumped to May 31 for the TUF Brazil 3 Finale in Sao Paulo, Brazil -- but he had to pull out with a hand injury. He is currently ranked No. 2 on the media-driven UFC rankings.
The 32-year old Miocic is 6-1 in the UFC (12-1 overall), and is riding a three-fight win streak, and is currently No. 4 in the heavyweight rankings. His last victory came at the TUF Brazil 3 Finale against Dos Santos' replacement, Fabio Maldonado. Before then he defeated Gabriel Gonzaga and Roy Nelson. Miocic's only career loss came in 2012 against Stefan Struve in Nottingham, England.

"I was kind of emotional," Arlovski told FOX Sports. "I shouldn’t have said anything.
"It was so unexpected and so unpleasant that at first I even wanted to take revenge on him, at least hit him with [my] elbow," Arlovski said (translated by Bloody Elbow). "But my boxing coach, Andrei Ivchuk, turned around and reassured me. 'Do not be like the people who allow themselves to such dirty tricks,' he said. 'No need to stoop to their level.'"
"Now I know that Overeem injured Jon Jones simply because he injures everyone with whom [he] trains," Arlovski told the website.
"Sometimes amazing how media twist and turns things," Overeem wrote. "For ratings unfortunately I suppose. But rest assured, me and AA go hard inside the gym! To better each other."
"He's very nice, very respectful," Arlovski said. "I think he's a good guy."

"He was run through the ringer. Every once in awhile we all get a bad hand dealt to us. He got a bad hand dealt to him. He went through it and came out unstained and successful. Why not [re-sign him]?"
Silva wrote:
"I never pointed any gun at my ex-wife, I never tried to hurt [her]. Everything she said was a lie. So, that's the truth."
Dana White wrote:
"If you take his side of the story, her side of the story, the truth lies somewhere in the middle, but he went through the process and he wasn't charged with anything. The guy should have the ability to make a living."
Alvarez wrote:
"He's a hell of a guy. It doesn’t shock me that things went the way they went, that he came out unscathed."
Silva wrote:
"People will forget about the incident. They always do"

Francis Carmont's UFC run has come to an end for now.
The Frenchman announced on his Facebook page that he is no longer in the UFC after a record of 6-3 inside the Octagon as a middleweight.
I announce that after 6 win and 3 defeat, I am no longer a UFC fighter. However it is with determination that I will continue my career in combat sports. A friend told me, after my loss against Thales, " You will come to understand it is the best thing that could've happen for your career, it'll make you stronger." At that moment i did not quiet understand, and after reflecting i came to auto-criticize myself. I come to the conclusion that in sports just like in life, there are many and different stages. By looking for perfection on my technique, i slowly estrange myself from the combat by instinct. Seeking to score points instead of finishing my opponent. My last loss pushes me to grow everyday. Life is a learning path and my career is far from finish. Thank you very much for your constant support.
Carmont, who trains out of the Tristar Gym in Montreal and has often been cornered by his good friend Georges St-Pierre, won his first six UFC fights, defeating Chris Camozzi, Magnus Cedenblad, Karlos Vemola, Tom Lawlor, Lorenz Larkin and Costas Philippou. However, he has since been stuck in a three-fight losing streak, most recently getting knocked out by Thales Leites last month after losses to Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza and C.B. Dollaway.
In fact, this current three-fight losing skid snapped an 11-fight winning streak for the 32-year-old Carmont. As he mentioned in his Facebook post, he plans on continuing his MMA career outside of the UFC.

"I would fight her, but 24 hours after the announcement of out-of-competition drug testing, she asked to be released from the UFC," Rousey said. "I’m under contract with the UFC, I can’t leave. She can come back whenever she wants, I’m here."
"She was fighting, it was a while ago, and she just got dropped five times in a match. And really, to be honest, I haven’t been really too impressed with her actual skill set," Rousey said. "It’s only her strength that she draws off.
"If you remember when she fought Gina (Carano), she pulled her into mount two different times. Those are very grievous technical mistakes. The mistakes that she makes technically are absolutely terrible and basic. The only reason why she gets away with it is because of her strength, and people don’t realize how strong I actually am. Ask the girls that I’ve fought. They weren’t expecting this. Because I don’t look like it, it doesn’t mean I don’t have it.
"She doesn’t have any feeling in her punches, she pushes her punches. She can’t knock people out with one punch, she just overwhelms them," she added. "My pace, nobody can overwhelm me. And the way that she is on the ground, it’s absolute horrendous. And her distance is absolute horrendous. The only thing that she has is pace and power, and I have pace, precision and power."
"I think that everybody has something, and I think that she would still be a great competitor at 135, but I think that she knows that it would be much harder for her to get away with doping and to make weight at 135," she said. "That’s why she resisted for so long. But then when she saw she had no other options, she started cutting down.
"But she’s still outside the organization, going outside the country. I’m sure she’s trying to dope as long as possible and then come into the UFC. But it doesn’t matter. I grew up fighting in judo and I knew there were people out there doping, but I never used that as an excuse to do it. I just wanted to beat them despite of it. ‘You know what, you can have every advantage in the world over me, you can have better funding, you can have a better program, be on all the drugs in the world, but I’m gonna be good enough to beat you despite of it.'
"The reason why people dope is because they lack self-confidence. The reason why she was using steroids is because that girl does not believe that the best that she has is good enough, and that will always be there in her mind. And you know what, she’s right. The best that she has isn’t good enough, even on drugs."
