Lyoto Machida Draws CB Dollaway for Next Bout
VS
After failing to capture the UFC middleweight championship, Lyoto Machida has agreed to return to the Octagon on Dec. 20 in Brazil.
UFC officials on Wednesday announced that Machida would return to face CB Dollaway in Barueri in the state of Sao
Paulo.
Machida (21-5) lost a unanimous decision to champion Chris Weidman at UFC 175 on July 5, derailing the former UFC light heavyweight champion’s hopes of becoming a two-division champion in the Octagon.
The loss came after back-to-back victories over Gegard Mousasi and Mark Munoz to launch his move to 185 pounds.
Dollaway (15-5) is on the other end of the spectrum. He has won his last two bouts, over Francis Carmont and Cezar Ferreira.
If he is able to add Machida’s name to his resume, Dollaway would launch himself into the upper echelon of middleweights trying to earn a shot at Weidman.
