I myself have become what is essentially a hobbyist after closing down my studio. I also have frequently recommended Pro Tools to people looking to become more serious in the music/recording/audio world.
However, with the price of PT going up to $899, is it really a sensible option for people not making or not intending to make money with their recording endeavors?
What exactly makes PT worth so much more, for a hobbyist, than options like Logic, Cubase, Studio One, Samplitude, Sonar and others?

Is Pro Tools still worth it for 'hobbyists'?
