I yesterday went in a studio of a friend to complete a mix of some new songs. I finished one song, and when I listened to it today on my regular monitors at home, I noticed a huge problem with mono compatibility. I was so stupid to mix the whole afternoon without once checking in mono.
But I think there are some things that I don't seem to understand about phasing relationships maybe. Because I didn't went to extreme with panning, and all mono sources that I placed in the middle (vocal, bass, kick, some snare) are completely gone when I listen in mono.
The only thing that really is in the middle are some channels that are going to a send with reverb on them.
Mixed in pro tools hd 7. UA 1176LN on the masterbus.
I'm going back tomorrow to see how I can fix things, but if there is someone here who can already say where I went wrong, it would be a huge help!
Thanks
