The future of analog synthesizers?

We all know that as the years past and computer technology advances, more softsynths (virtual analogs) have gotten better at emulating the analog sound. I believe that softsynths like the U-he Diva and some of the Arturia softsynths have gotten praise for being the closest thing to analog in the softsynth world.

So as analog emulation continues to advance, what might be the future of hardware analog synths? Will better processing power in the future allow for spot-on virtual analogs that can replace actual analog synths OR will the sound of hardware analogs never be replicated by digital technology? How long do you think it will take for digital to catch up, if ever? Do you think that hardware analog synths can bring new things to the table that will put them further ahead of digital/VA softsynths?
