The fall of the UFC....

What happened to the UFC? Is it my imagination or has fans dropped like flies? Maybe it's just me, but I don't even pay attention to what's what and who's fighting who anymore. A few years ago, it would be marked on my calendar so I can go out with friends, have a beer, and watch the fights. I haven't gone in over a year. Is it one of those things where as an organization, the UFC just grew too fast for its own good? The growth, which at one time was phenominal, was unsustainable. I think the popularity has declined and I attribute it to these reasons. Feel free to add more:

1. Lack of depth in each division

2. The rivalries are all but gone. Now they are manufacturered.

3. Too many fighters getting injured

4. Too many thin cards

5. The dominant champions don't have competition (who wants to continue to see JJ elbow guys to death and see Rousey armbar chicks over and over?)

6. Lack of true superstars (Brock, Liddell, Rampage, BJ Penn, Silva, Couture)

7. Lack of personality

8. Lack of superfights (Dana never made GSP/Silva happen. He never made Silva/Jones happen. Now they will never happen)

9. Thin HW division. The HW division is usually the most exciting. Outside of Cain, who else is there? There's Cain/DS and the rest, and the gap between 1 and 2 is huge

10. The product is getting old. The stars are getting old so the product is getting old. It's like Tiger Woods and golf. Nobody watches golf anymore ,because Tiger is past his prime.

Anyways, unless I see numbers that proves me wrong, the UFC is in freefall mode. DW needs to do something soon or he's going to be looking at another job.
