There has been recent news from Luke Rockhold and he speaks about being on stand by in case Belfort doesn't make his title fight against Chris Wiedman (whom will likely just cancel the event in that case, j/k) as well as criticizing Belfort's ability to stay healthy while off the juice:
"I mean, if [Belfort is] clean and healthy, he'll probably get injured." Rockhold according to Yahoo Sports.
He also wondered about Vitor's licencing.
""That licensing is questionable. Is the fact that he cried supposed to make us feel sorry that he’s been a lifelong cheater? He’s pretty much a pathological liar." Rockhold - mma canvas.

I have enjoyed Belfort's fights but I also suppose clean and fair fighting. Should Luke Rockhold come about to secure the title shot against Chris Weidman, it will still be totally cool and awesome to see Rockhold get his due. I sort of give the edge to Belfort over Rockhold to beat Weidman but overall I think that Weidman retains the belt. I have added a poll with relevant opinions to see whom you wish to see fight Weidman. I am picking Belfort because I think it'll be a great stand up fight and get a glimpse to how Anderson vs Weidman 2 should have played out without the injury.

UFC middleweight Luke Rockhold has only lost once since 2008, to Vitor Belfort in Brazil back in 2013, and the American Kickboxing Academy fighter is still bitter about it. After all, Rockhold not only lost via violent KO, he lost to Belfort while the former champ was using drugs he would likely not have been allowed to use were he and the UFC not avoiding real commission regulation by keeping his bouts in places like Brazil and Toronto while his Nevada license lapsed.
Since that time, Rockhold has put together two straight wins and is hoping for a title shot in the near future. In fact, Rockhold told reporters this weekend that he's on stand-by to fill in for Belfort should the banned PED-user not make it to his scheduled title bout against Chris Weidmain in December.
"I just don't think Vitor is going to make it to the fight so, I'm going to be ready," Rockhold said.
"I mean, if [Belfort is] clean and healthy, he'll probably get injured. His body is going to fall apart. It's too frail, you know what I mean? He's been doing this [expletive] for too long. And, if he realizes he can't compete off of it, he's probably going to try and slip something in and then he's going to get popped with a test. I just think some way or another, he's somehow going to fall out. So, I'm just going to be ready."
Clearly, Rockhold is still bitter and taking digs at Belfort, however the scenarios he offers do not seem entirely unlikely. After all, Belfort has already failed a drug test this year and, after inexplicably licensing him to fight again with no penalty for the past failed drug test (his second failed one in Nevada) the Nevada Athletic Commission promised to test Belfort lots, and randomly, from here on out.
If Belfort's testosterone is low at this point in his long career and relatively advanced age, as he claims, and he gives up banned testosterone and other drugs, his body may very well not be able to handle the grueling training he has to go through in order to challenge Weidman. Injuries are common in training camps and the 37 year-old is surely extra susceptible to them in this, the 18th year of his professional career, and while he is supposedly coming off of drugs he's relied on for years to increase his testosterone.

Just last week, Belfort was granted a conditional license to face Weidman on December 7 (read more here) but Rockhold, who was defeated by Belfort via head-kick-TKO in early 2013 has told Bloody Elbow that "mutant" Belfort will be unable to compete for the belt latet this year.
"That licensing is questionable. Is the fact that he cried supposed to make us feel sorry that he’s been a lifelong cheater? He’s pretty much a pathological liar. He should really consider taking up acting. Maybe he should read for the next Expendables movie. He’s pretty much enough of a mutant to fit right in there," he said.
"Here’s my opinion; there’s no way in Hell Vitor makes it to this fight. Something is gonna happen that prevents it. He’s either going to get off steroids, train and then get injured because he’s not on them anymore, get caught for PEDs, or he’s going to back out with an 'injury'. One of those things is going to happen, and Vitor Belfort is not going to make it to his fight," he continued.
It's not the first time that Belfort has come under heavy criticism from his peers - just last week former Strikeforce veteran Tim Kennedy (18-4) told Submission Radio that Belfort was "dripping testosterone from his eyeballs." You can listen to the full interview below.
