Hey all! First post!
So I've had my SM7B (with Cloudlifter and now Golden Pre73) for my online broadcasts and loved it (especially when I had my DBX compressor/limiter working).
I had just bought a whole new setup and another mic (NT1) and noticed a big difference in the two mics.
First, the SM7B was picking up WAY more background noise (including my computers) than the NT1.
I remember back when I bought the SM7B that it was Dynamic and would have really good off axis reduction in noise, however now that I listen to both side by side through my mixer (SM7B > GA Pre73 | NT1 with Phantom On) the NT1 is hands down, much quieter than the SM7B and so much more ideal for our setup in my gaming house.
Am I just missing something or is the NT1 THAT much better than the SM7B in terms of not picking up background sound? I bought the SM7B for that reason and almost want to get another NT1.
Note: I'm using these Mics just for voice while broadcasting.
