Hello
The first thing I should say is that my knowledge on computers is very minimal. I have been "producing" with a torrented version ableton live 9 suite for about a year and have recently purchased it, but havent installed it yet because i am worried about being able to use my sets and dont know if they will work on the legit version. I dont do much recording of live instruments except for occasional electric guitar just for fun. My current setup consists of a audiobox 22vsl usb interface, a samson graphite 49 controller, and 2 rokit 5 monitors. I use my lenovo laptop from 2011 (sadly, thats about as much as i know about it) and keep all of my sets on an external 300 gb hard drive. I am looking into getting a new pc and am leaning towards desktop because i dont do shows (yet) and have heard that they are much more powerful/better bang for your buck. I am not against building my own (i have friends who know much more about computers than i do that could help me). I have many questions as to what would work best for what i do, as far as internal or external ssd vs hdd, a reasonable price range, and the key things i should look for. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
