Upgrading my USB Interface - Questions

Hello,

I have a Steinberg CI1 USB Interface for about 4 years and I think it's letting me down. Not speaking about the "clicking" when loading lots of VST's, my DAW hasn't stopped freezing for the last 2 weeks, it's very annoying, so I think it's high time to check out other USB Interfaces, as I think my CI1 is a low end product (I don't know what you think about it)

So, I do record vocals sometimes, but I'm mainly using FL Studio with lots of VST's/Plugins for music production.

After some researches, I concluded that the RME Babyface is a very nice USB Interface that doesn't disappoint.

My questions are the following:

1) Do I really need this card if I don't record often and if I'm mainly using it for music production? In this case, what would be the advantage of owing this card rather than a cheaper one? Less Latency? Capability of loading lots of VST's without "clicking"?

2) I read that the "BIG" thing about the Babyface is that it supports 192Khz. What does it mean? Would it be useful for me?

3) I see that this USB Interface has been discontinued by RME. Why? Is there now another better card on the market?

Thank you in advance for your answers,

Have a nice day!
