I'm neither a great guitar player or bass player. My main instruments are drums. However, I do lots of recording in my home studio. Besides Logic pro X and various guitar, synth, eq, etc plug ins, I really like recording "outside the box".I have an epi valve JR stack that sounds great to my ears (records nice as well) running a BOSS ME-80. I'm really enjoying the results I am getting. I now want to have an amp for my Yamaha Bass to where I do not have to work parts out thru DAW. Plus option to record direct and thru amp at same time if needed. But here is the twist. I like recording stereo guitar at times. The me-80 has stereo outs for a second amp, pa, etc. So I would like to buy a Bass amp that would be nice as the 2nd guitar amp when I record stereo guitar tracks. The main amp is the valve jr, the secondary amp would serve as a way to "thicken" chords a bit. Now, I'm looking for something in the lower Ampeg, Fender Rumble area. No Peavey amps please. I had so much bad experience with a new Classic 30 a few years ago that I avoid their amps.
I was planning to get the Sansamp direct box for effects. Now I could save the $$ for the sansamp and get a Line6 bass amp with effects and modeling
I would like to buy new and under $400 price range. Any suggestions?
