Dana White on Jon Jones’ eye pokes: ‘We’ve got to stop that stuff’

Dana White was impressed with Jon Jones’ performance on Saturday night but believes something has to be done regarding the constant eye pokes.



UFC President Dana White spoke with Ariel Helwani following the UFC 172 fight card, where he discussed a variety of topics including the main event between Jon Jones and Glover Teixeira.



While White was clearly impressed with Jones' overall performance against Teixeira, he did comment on the constant eye pokes that have become an issue due to Jones' Thai block defence, where he covers his opponent's face with his hand.



"We've got to stop that stuff. The openings of the hands [gloves] and putting the hands on the face are something bad but it happens with guys who have reach. They do that a lot."
