I am looking at moving into a smaller more affordable studio back-house but i am worried about my music being to loud for the neighbors and me getting shut down. in this post i am not concerned about soundproofing for my actual recordings but to the outside world. i am making hip hop so lots of bass and lots of yelling. in an ideal world i would be able to sound proof my entire room-i have started looking at buying soundbooths but because i am my own engineer it will be tough to record myself unless i run back and forth hitting the record button than going to the booth, and this still would not solve me play back over my speakers being loud.
Since I am a newb at soundproofing any advice would be helpful with what has or hasn't worked for people. i was thinking of possibly buying blankets from goodwill to hang on the wall and than putting a layer of sound board in front of those, essentially making my room about 2 inches smaller on each wall. kinda seems difficult but might be my best way? my budget is about $1000.
sorry in advance if this post is in the wrong forum
